KATIE WHEELER
MSC, LPC-MHSP, OWNER
Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee and North Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Hillsdale College and a Master of Science in Counseling from Milligan University.
After moving to Knoxville, she gained valuable experience in community mental health, where she developed a deep passion for trauma work. Witnessing firsthand the profound impact trauma has on the body, mind, and spirit, Katie was inspired to specialize in helping clients heal through evidence-based, trauma-focused practices such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
In 2020, driven by her commitment to trauma recovery, Katie founded Tranquil Minds Counseling, creating a peaceful space where clients can feel safe to grow, process, and heal.
Katie is also passionate about working with women diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and hypothyroidism. Understanding how these health challenges affect both mental and physical well-being, she enjoys helping women manage the balance between the stresses of life and their health.
Katie’s practice is currently focused on teenagers and adults who are ready to explore and process difficult emotions. She strives to create a warm, welcoming environment where clients can relax and feel at home in her office.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, baking, and playing with her two German Shepherds, Asher and Hannah.
